The Indian cricket team was stopped from trekking and paragliding in Dharamshala in order to ensure that no player suffers an injury ahead of remaining ICC World Cup 2023 matches.
The Indian team has been given a two-day break after winning five games in a row during the World Cup. Rohit Sharma’s men are currently at the top of the points table.
“The team management has informed players that they can’t go trekking, they can go out but can’t do trekking. At the same time during the series no Indian player can even do paragliding as it can go against the player contract,” a BCCI official told Indian Express.
However, India’s coaching staff, led by Rahul Dravid, were allowed to trek in Dharamshala. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also shared a video of their trekking on their official Instagram account on Wednesday.
“A day off for the squad is a day well spent in the hills for the support staff” was the caption BCCI gave to the stunning video.
India’s next match in the tournament is against England on Sunday, October 29. The squad will assemble in Lucknow, which is the venue for England-India match, on October 26.
